Let’s be honest. There is so much to learn about the many diagnoses that children receive. As a music therapist, I would love to help train you in the setting in which you work, whether it is a special needs program at church, in the school setting, as a parent or homeschooling parent, or even as a someone who is trying to figure out how to adapt their classroom into a place where all children feel loved and welcomed. I will offer training on different types of diagnoses, but in short snippets. Time is limited, so I’m here to give you fast facts. I also will be offering you ideas to use in the setting in which you work. Hopefully you can take some of the ideas, tweak it, and it will work in all settings. Every child is worth us knowing how to work with them and how to love them best. They deserve to be loved and valued by all who work with them. We need to “speak their language.” As a mom of a child with Asperger’s and Auditory Processing Disorder, I understand the heartbreak as people push your child to the side or they won’t try to even know him or how he learns. As a therapist, I adapt and try hard to make all children successful. My goal is to bring the two together. Join me!
