My children really enjoy the Who Was… series. My son is the child who prefers nonfiction to fiction and loves to learn about history. This was the first series that piqued his interest and made him love reading. When he gets the option to pick a book series, he chooses this series every time at the bookstores.
Because of his APD and dyslexia, we do some group reading so I can check what he is retaining. These books have been perfect for us to explore together as a homeschooling family.There was one dilemma, though. There were times when I was reading when I realized he was missing a lot of what was said. Because of that, I set out for a solution.
