My son has Auditory Processing, or APD. When he was first diagnosed, I did what most people do when they hear of a diagnosis that they don’t know much about. I hopped on the internet and began researching it. The only problem was that there wasn’t a lot of information out. I wanted to know personal stories of people who were walking this road. I wanted to know how they adapted things to help their child succeed and overcome so many of the obstacles they face. I wanted encouragement that I wasn’t a terrible mom even though I had lost my patience over something that my son couldn’t help. That’s why this blog was born. I hope that you hear our story and see our adaptations and know there is hope. Your child can succeed. You’re not terrible if you’ve grown frustrated because you are a fix-it person and this isn’t something that you can’t just fix right away. We’re on this journey in our own family. We’d love for you to join us on our path and share your experiences, too. I’d love to hear your stories, so email me!
