This series has become one of my new favorites. I don’t want Dr. Kevin Leman and Jeff Nesbit to stop writing these books. I don’t typically enjoy these political thriller type of books, but decided I wanted to see what a fiction book by Dr. Kevin Leman would look like. They are amazing! It’s fun to see how Dr. Leman made each character follow the birth order descriptions of a typical child born first, middle, and last.
The Worthington family are definitely people in a whole other class than me. Because of that, I thought I would have trouble relating to them. That was not the case. Instead, I began to see myself and those in my family as I came to know each character and why they did certain things.
The first book, A Perfect Ambition,” focuses on Will Worthington. Will is the oldest child in the Worthington family who has been primed by his dad to do great things in his life. A Powerful Secret focuses on Sean Worthington who has gone through his life feeling like he was always compared to his brother and was never loved or respected by his father.
Sean doesn’t know who he is or what he’s supposed to do in life. He wants his father’s approval and love so much, but he never receives it. After learning a secret that would change the family forever, he doesn’t know how to take the information he’s learned. What he thought to be true was never true. He had to figure out who he was and what his future would look like. Of course, for the Worthington family, some things weren’t left up to them to decide. They were powerful enough of a family that people thought they could manipulate them.
The Worthington Destiny series adds just enough suspense and plot turns that make you keep saying “just one more chapter.” The chapters are short, which I really like because then I feel like I can sit down and read continuously throughout my day in between my daily tasks.
You don’t want to miss out on this series. You will find yourself wanting to read more and more about the Worthington family.
I received this book free from Revell Publishers in exchange for my honest opinion of this book.
